I'm thinking in months.. so I say:

July - .06
failed expectation of results not being reported yet.

August - .10
results of 1st cohort SMD are out and good as expected; work being done for SMD 2nd cohort.

September - .11
steady

October - .10
lawsuits and what-not

November - .25
results of the first patients for SMD 2nd cohort and announcement of a chinese JV for SMD (upfront payment 500M); R\S

December - pre-R\S .30
IND for myopia; institution buy


Maybe I forgot some points, like fundings (CIRM that I dont believe in) or a special appearence of Dama Judy Dench.. What is your take?

PPS predictions are always wrong so here is my incorrect guess.

June -july channel at .065 and .085

August - September the range moves to .085 to .10

October to December a big event will cause PPS to spike .20 to .30
It could be a JV, great news from trials, settlement of lawsuits some in our favor, or new discovery that they patent.

RS will not happen in 2012.

At this point my crystal ball blew out a blub.

OK, I'll play this game too, since my predictions have so far never come true, but perhaps one day I might get one right:

Despite the ongoing lawsuits, I think Nasdaq will come to view the ACT of 2012 as a maturing company, working hard at being transparent and taking responsibility for errors in the past. As such, I still think the R/S and up-list will happen sometime within the next 4 weeks or so. Prior to the announcement, we'll be trading in the $0.065 to $0.09 range (the lower end if there continues to be little to no new news, and the upper end if there's some smallish news or if there's anticipation or "leakage" of bigger news by the same sorts of traders who walked up the price prior to the Lancet article). I'll guess the split will be at the upper ratio end (1:60 to 1:80), be announced on a Friday after trading, "officially" take effect on the weekend, and on the Monday morning we'll be a Nasdaq-listed stock, nominally set to open at $4.50 to $6.50 pps.

However, prior to market open on that Monday, the company will announce one or more of: a CIRM grant, a J/V with either a Chinese entity and/or one of our Big Pharma competitor/suitors, updated results on the previously injected patients showing continued visual improvement, and/or a new IND application.

Closing price that day will be over $20/share (give or take, depending on what news gets released... more news or "bigger" news, higher price), boosted by enthusiastic institutional investing. Other than a few profit-taking pull-backs, price will continue to generally climb and will be over $50/share by the end of the year, due to continued news on injection cohorts and results, other progress on the science front, resolution of all the lawsuits, and other positive events.

That's my crazy 2012 prediction... anyone want to pay me to write screenplays for Hollywood movies?

I'm not worried about ACT's potential and management's ability to follow through, it's the rest of the world that scares me.

As long as we get our influx of loan/grant/joint-venture money before the world goes back into recession, I think we'll be OK. Healthcare is a defensive industry... regardless of the economy, people continue to get sick and will need treatment. Admittedly, there may be less investors out there with the cash to buy our stock, and there may be some (especially some of us poor retail investors) who'll be forced to dip into our accounts to pay bills and such, but those out there who do still have money should still be savvy enough to know where to put it. Even in bad times, some people will still get rich.

If I were to hazard a guess it would be the same but with "a partial" "announcement creating a position of strength" prior to the uplist, of course causing the PPS to spike and only requiring a 20 to 1 split.

THE SPLIT WILL BE be (1:20 ), AND be announced on a Friday after trading, "officially" take effect on the weekend, and on the Monday morning we'll be a Nasdaq-listed stock, nominally set to open at $5.00 to $8.00 pps.

However, prior to market open on that Monday, the company will announce FURTHER DETAILS INCLUDING a CIRM grant, a SECOND J/V WITH one of our Big Pharma competitor/suitors, updated results on the previously injected patients showing continued visual improvement, and/or a new IND application.

Closing price that day will be over $20/share (give or take, depending on what news gets released... more news or "bigger" news, higher price), boosted by enthusiastic institutional investing. How would SEC issue come into play?

Dave, that's an intriguing adaption. Your version allows for a lower split ratio. I wonder if GR already has a split ratio in mind (that is, an idea of how strongly he wants supply & demand market factors to be able to move the pps in the months after the split), or if he's ambivalent about that and will let current pricing control the ratio until the last moment.

In any case, my record on accurately predicting what happens with this stock is pretty abysmal. The only time I really got it right was when I originally told myself, "I need to be in this stock". Trickle down success (company does well, eventually I do well) may not be coming as fast or as intense as I'd originally hoped or anticipated, but I'm still fully confident it will come.

How would SEC issue come into play?

No doubt it makes Nasdaq scrutinize us even more closely, and it almost certainly will be the cause of some delay (how long? who knows), but if ACT does their best to answer Nasdaq's questions and concerns, I don't see the SEC investigation or other related lawsuits as an insurmountable obstacle. After all, it's not like there aren't any big name Nasdaq and NYSE companies also under SEC investigation, or being sued by somebody... a 30 sec Google search will provide countless examples. I also think it helps our application that these legal issues stem (ha ha) from past activities under a previous CEO, and can be convincingly argued are not representative of the culture and direction of the current company.

I think I have read something related to CIRM funding, here at the forums, that if we do recieve some funds, it would only be at the begining of the next year..

I do recall Gary Rabin predicting that 2012 will be the "most exciting year in the history of ACT."

ACT should be a $1 stock by end of year. However, three events have to occur more or less together that are critical to the stock price.The first is inking a JV that will satisfy the company's long-term liquidity needs and establish a basis for how the market values ACT's Retinal Program, which for now is just a guess...how big is the pie, and who gets the biggest slice? A JV is also needed soon to address ACT's liqudity; the longer Gary waits, the greater the risk that somethings goes wrong or becomes delayed, which will raise the question of ACT as a going concern.

Second, ACT must demonstrate success during the second cohort, which is necessary to further establish the safety and efficacy of RPE cells.

And third, Gary MUST complete the Nasdaq application; have that applicaton accepted; and then uplist and get the company off the OTC and onto a legimate exchange that institutions investors and funds have access. Nasdaq is the highway that large investors travel, and the only way that ACT can hope for it's stock price to reflect the value of its stem cell technology; the stability of its balance sheet; and the liklihood that the Retinal Program will be commercialized at the completion of the clinical trials.
